About Behavioural eCommerce
Behavioural eCommerce was born when a passion for behavioural economics combined with a day job in eCommerce. The aim of Behavioural eCommerce is to bring behavioural insights and consumer psychology research to the masses of people that work in eCommerce.
My name is Daniel Cartland, I have a first-class honours degree in Neuroscience from King’s College London University, a Masters degree in Behavioural Economic from City St Georges, University of London and have been working in eCommerce for over 6 years.
The cause is not entirely noble, however, as it is also one born of frustration in two areas:
- The surface level and repetitive nature of behavioural insights applied to eCommerce websites which often boils down to “social proof”, without nuance or originality.
- The inaccessibility of research for the general public, both in terms of access and readability
This blog hopes to provide accessible, interesting, and original insights backed by research to those working in eCommerce.
Welcome to Behavioural eCommerce!
